Darkness into Light

My Progression

                                                                                                                                                  Darkness into Light

Although birth should be, it is not and does not always bring joy

When you begin, there is no light dark or bright

That does not last for long, as soon you are thrust into reality

Reality is different for every person and the same for all

It is not of the individuals choosing as at that age there is no choice

Reality for the new born is never a choice of settings

               But rather

Reality is what, where and who you are born to.

Even in the glow of warmth that surrounds much of birth

For some pain, anger and tragedy is almost an immediate thing

Thankfully, for a while reason isn’t, so warmth persists longer

When reason arrives it often brings the desperate despair of knowing

Knowing you are not like most of the others you see

Knowing you want to be like them but you will never be

When this happens, darkness is upon you

               And inevitably

You begin an insatiable quest for light!
