Nevada
From Kingman, Arizona to Las Vegas, up and out of Nevada to St. George
Highway 50 all across Nevada through Ely, Austin, Fallon and Carson City
Tonopah, past Walker Lake and out of and into California over various passes when open
From Reno to Windover through Winnemucca and Elko we have driven most of Nevada
We have looked for Area 51 and were chased out the area
Where we were by we think the "Feds"
We have stayed many times in both Reno and Las Vegas and even Ely
We visited Great Basin National Park and toured the cave
Of course we have toured Boulder Dam many times
We have won great amounts of money and lost our fair share in this State
We have enjoyed may shows but really like the old fashioned Vegas Strip Shows
Like the Folies de Bergere and we saw Joan Rivers and Helen Reddy and so many others
Circus Circus, Slots of Fun and $1 Blackjack and sawdust floors downtown
We have driven past the area where the underground atomic bomb tests took place
Yes we were in Vegas once when there was an actual test there and
We could really feel the ground tremble
We have passed a famous brothel near Fallon and were sorely disappointed
It was a group of trailers surrounded by somewhat of a privacy fence
Just didn't seem to be the place, at least from the outside,
Where you would go for expensive pleasure
We drove through Reno over the pass watching as fire fighters fought a big forest fire
The CHP was behind us and used their loudspeaker to tell us to drive faster
We also have driven over that same area when chains were required to drive
One time we went to Vegas to celebrate Linda's being pregnant and we stayed up all night
As we left in the desert just out of town on the way to St. George,
We both had a terrible case of the "runs"
Linda was throwing up, I was indisposed and of course every trucker in the world
Chose this time to come by
Las Vegas used to be a real small and friendly place where you could have fun
Today we never stop anymore as there just is really no place to walk and park
It is so very huge, terribly busy, always under construction and seems almost unfriendly - probably just different than we remember
The countryside is mostly beautiful barren rocky land with mountains all around
It can be extremely hot and brutally cold, very dry and flooding wet
It is a neat State that offers incredible hope and strong disappointment
It used to be a fun place to visit but now it has become so expensive and
Huge that we just simply try to drive through it
We have good memories of visiting this place!
