Maryland

Baltimore, Havre de Grace, Emmetsburg, and Annapolis are the cities I most remember

Baltimore because we went to a movie and had to leave

Because of a very loud crying child a very long time ago

The movie was "A Man For All Seasons"

Baltimore because we went to an Oriole Baseball Game with dear friends

We were staying with

It was a Strat League baseball reunion and it was great

Baltimore because we used to eat at Gino's a fast food place and because

 There were good memories there

Baltimore because we visited a dear lost friend that knew me from high school

And had also become my wife's closest friend for a while

I went to Officer Candidate School at Aberdeen Proving Grounds near Havre de Grace

Linda lived in a horrible one room apartment in Havre de Grace yet we were so grateful for it

Just to visit me Linda often had to dig herself out of a snow filled parking lot

With a new born daughter

That newborn daughter is now in her forties and has four children and

We are very proud of her

There was a place there where Linda got her first lobster, the Mayflower Hotel

A difficult time made even harder by the Viet Nam War and our youth

Snow and wind and cold and rain and a struggle to survive characterize this time of our life

Emmetsburg for much different reasons

The grotto we have often visited with the outdoor stations behind Mt. St. Mary's

The National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Seton where we have attended Liturgy and often prayed

We have a class one relic of St. Elizabeth purchased from the Shrine store

This is a beautiful holy place that we have felt a strong sense of good in and near

The whole area actually is very nice and we have camped close and listened to the roar of wild animals

Once driving near Emmetsburg a small tornado preceded our arrival

We were fortunate not to have been caught up in it

We have visited the Naval Academy in Annapolis and found it to be proper

We have driven from Friendsville, through Cumberland, to Hagerstown and beyond

Actually Maryland is a green country filled with hills like a lot of the northeast

It was a mostly difficult place for us filled with some very good memories
