Indiana

The Notre Dame State is certainly Indiana

Linda took a summer class there and we both have visited many times

The Grotto, the Golden Dome and a wonderful weekend there for a conference

It is a rare place where you actually feel or want to feel the presence of God

We visited our daughter and her family in very early 2011 and

took some nice pictures of Notre Dame .

We have driven through and stayed in Indianapolis many times

Once after a snowstorm we saw a truck pass us too fast and flip many times

We had a great customer from our chess selling days in Indianapolis

It is mostly low rolling farming country not especially scenic

The last time we were in Indiana was in Fort Wayne for a dear friend's funeral

Phil was younger than me but I always thought he was my age

Either way he was my dear friend and I miss him

As we drove from Fort Wayne across country

With Sadie our oldest granddaughter who was with us

We lost our direction and stopped and were given direction at a nice farm

Farmers are just extraordinary people who are nice and work very hard

Fort Wayne is a nice city and driving in from Defiance along the river is a nice drive

Once we spent two years working in Defiance, Ohio very close to Fort Wayne

We would go to Fort Wayne a lot for almost anything

A very long time ago we drove into a small very rural area near Vernon

To visit dear friends who were pastoring their first church

They were Southern Baptist and he had just graduated from Southern in Louisville

The strange memory that we have of this visit is that the house

They lived in and we were visiting

Had been previously occupied by a snake handling preacher and

Our friend and we were terrified that the snakes were not all gone

We also closed the window blinds so his congregation

Could not see us laughing and playing cards

We drove across highway 50 which is another highway we have driven extensively

On even in Kansas

That is about it for Indiana other than to say we have driven up and down and across this state
