Delaware

This is a small mostly rural state with interesting memories for Linda and me

We have driven the length and width of this state but mostly a while ago

Dover is fun because of two different reasons for us

One it is very unique to see horses and buggy's tied up downtown

The Amish are very present in Dover and are mostly cordial

Watching them as they drive a carriage everywhere

Strikes a contrast with everything else that surrounds them

The second reason is the harness racing track there which we have gone to more than once

We have almost always enjoyed harness racing

Did you know the favourite in a Harness Race almost always finishes in the top three places

in the race?

We drove into Delaware one Labor Day weekend to see our dear friends

They owned a haunted farm house near Greenwood

It was an old funeral parlor and in a very rural area

We once drove to Philadelphia from Havre de Grace, Maryland through Delaware and New

 Jersey

Where we bought Linda a small black and white TV as I was entering OCS

It was night and the traffic was heavy and the streets crowded but did not matter as we were

 very young

There are also beaches and bridges and sometimes a lot of people

Delaware is a mostly flat low lying state but not like Kansas

It is humid and hot and yet very cold and snowy

A place with definite strong memories
