California

Well yesterday we left off in Santa Cruz with the art theatres and of course, the "Pink Lady"
Just out of Santa Cruz is the Brookdale Lodge where a rippling stream runs through the dining room
A ghost is supposed to inhabit the dining area but they don't play that up
The lodge was somewhat rundown but the food was beautifully prepared and wonderful in taste
Near Salinas is a wildlife park with five star tents and thanks to one of our daughters we stayed there on an anniversary
You could hear the lions roaring all night and we were able to play with a beautiful Elephant named Lisa
This was one of the greatest of all nights we have ever spent anywhere anytime and is one of our treasured memories
We drove the coast through San Francisco and we have been to Twin Peaks
We have driven from Watsonville to Merced across the desert past the damn into Yosemite
We have walked Fisherman's Wharf and been to the Giants Baseball Park and to the flea market in Napa
We have bought tires and been disappointed in the Flea Market in San Jose
Then we have gone to Muir's Woods and then up the coast line
We have driven 1 all the way to Eureka through the Redwood National Park
All the way to Oregon not even knowing where 1 ended and 101 began
We have stopped and taken pictures of the ocean and the trees
We spent the night in Eureka at least three times
We have enjoyed a delicious icy as we drove these roads
We have passed Biker's on a Biking Weekend, Hells Angels among others
We have looked down upon San Francisco from Twin peaks in complete awe
The Golden Gate Bridge is a place we have often driven upon and always stopped at the rest area
Once there were youth and a dancing priest all singing as they prepared for a youth festival
We have been through Haight- Ashbury and loved every smell and second of it
Chinatown, The trolley cars, and driven the winding road now closed many times
We looked for a home on a hillside in Oakland once
We walked the Ano Nuevo Reserve loop one hot day and enjoyed the elephant seals
We have camped in Big Basin Redwoods State park and fought off the mosquitoes there
We have eaten three times at Scopazzi's an incredible restaurant in Boulder Creek
We have even enjoyed driving Bear Creek Road across to 17
Once we drove over Treasure Island on the Bay Bridge
Whale Watching out of Monterrey provided much enjoyment
Once we took my brother for dinner San Francisco
California is a magical place and tomorrow I will remember the National parks and Reno
