Arkansas

In late September  of 2014 Linda and I visited Crystal Bridges in Bentonville, Arkansas. It was a wonderful visit and a nice place. We also visited the Sam Walton  muesum and Pea Ridge N National park.

We then drove over to Eureka Springs and visited the Statue of Christ which was as we had remembered.

Huge mosquitoes are the first thing I think of when thinking of Arkansas

When I was young and my parents were driving across country in a Ford Station wagon

We drove through Little Rock before I-40 was built and there were tons of mosquitoes

I also think of taking my father to see the Passion Play in Eureka Springs

It was perhaps the nicest time I ever had with my dad

It poured rain at the play and we all got soaked

We ate hotdogs cooked in our custom van as we drove there

We stayed at the great Crescent Hotel and took pictures of the Christ of the Ozarks statue

We have looked for diamonds at Murfreesboro and drove through Hot Springs

Somewhere between Shreveport and Texarkana maybe in Fouke we tried to find "Big Foot"

Eureka Springs is a quaint but neat place to visit

Lots of shops filled with glass for sale is what I mostly think of

Mostly the state is filled with narrow winding steep hilly roads that require attention while driving

It has always been hot even steamy when we were there and we never much liked the state

Still we have had some very nice times when visiting

Once when visiting near Hot Springs, we went for dune buggy rides and remember having a good time

We have driven past the home of Wal-Mart in Bentonville

We have driven I40 so many times from Fort Smith to Memphis

Past the tall Nuclear Power Plant and the Winery

From West Memphis to Jonesboro to West Plains and then into Branson

Most of the time it was not our destination just part of our trip

We have been up and down and all across the state

We bought Gigi a pretty brindle apple faced Chihuahua from probably a puppy mill near Texarkana

Izzy has brought her much companionship and even love despite only weighing in at around four pounds
