FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION – 1985

MARY, I LOVE YOU,

There once was a lady named Mary,

She was filled with plans, hopes, a future,

She looked forward to living a full life,

And,

She was about to be married to a man of means,

About to become the wife of Joseph.

Into her life, You suddenly charged,

In the flash of an instant, Mary was changed,

In the space of a heartbeat, a miracle happened,

Gabriel told Mary of Your choices for her,

As Mary said yes, You were already in her.

Mary chose to accept Your choice, and did,

Joseph chose to accept Mary as a gift to him,

Mary is as much our mother as she is Yours,

Because

From the Father, through Mary, You came to us,

When will we choose to accept Your gift to us?

There once was a lady named Mary,

Who accepted motherhood of all God’s People,

Who has nurtured and cared for all of  her children,

As mother of man, she fulfills her hopes and future,

She is indeed the Lady,

Our Mother Mary!
